National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

DO NOT FLUSH UNUSED MEDS!!!

As many of us know medications have disastrous side affects. We may not know how to throw them out or dispose of them properly, so they don't hurt us further or the environment. These are very toxic chemicals and we should treat them as such. If we throw the medications into the toilet and flush, as harmful as they may be, they will find their way into our water system. Yes into our drinking water and bathing water. They also affect all living creatures in our lakes and streams. Yes into our fishing streams.

Last year Longmont water service put a flyer in our water bill describing how the medications are not able to be filtered out, even with the best filtration in northern Colorado, and they end up in our water sources such as our lakes and streams. This has led to numerous problems with our fish population. The fish are becoming mutated and deformed beyond recognition. For our health, the health of our environment and the health of future generations of people and animals please dispose of your medications properly. SMARxT Disposal is providing free disposal of all your unused medication (new, used or half used). Please find a location nearest to you and take your toxic mess. ~Dr. S

Quick & Easy Home Test for Thyroid Problems

Basal Temperature Test

A simple home test for thyroid function is to take your temperature under the arm in the pit for ten minutes upon awakening.

It should be between

97.8 - 98.2 degrees.

Chipotle Lime Salmon

1 lb salmon, cut into 4 fillets

1-2 tablespoons olive oil

2 limes, sliced in half

1 teaspoon celtic sea salt

1 teaspoon chipotle powder

1. Preheat oven to 500°

2. Rinse salmon, pat dry and place on a metal baking sheet

3. Rub each fillet with olive oil

4. Squeeze the juice from one-half lime onto each fillet

5. Sprinkle fillets with salt and chipotle, then place a half lime on top of each fillet

6. Turn down oven temperature to 275°

Place salmon in oven and cook for 8-12 minutes, depending on how well done you like your fish – Enjoy!

Vaginal Births - When you research vaginal births in depth you’ll see that doctors on average put about 80-90 pounds of pressure to assist in the delivery. It only takes 120 pounds to decapitate a newborn.
