Answers! has a team of very talented medical professionals that treat the underlying cause of an illness rather than just the symptoms. Answers! knows that understanding the three T’s – traumas, toxins, and thoughts – is essential to uncovering how a healthy body becomes ill suddenly or over time. Unlike many other practices, patients who choose Answers! will benefit from individualized care and extensive face-to-face communications with the doctor. The doctors at Answers! have been trained in a variety of specialties and know that the body is more than just the sum of its parts.

The Votes Are IN!

We are so excited to announce that Answers! is a finalist for the Small Business of the Year award! Winners will be announced tomorrow!

Answers! has donated numerous hours starting a non-profit organization called The Doctors Speakers Bureau – this organization is dedicated to bringing doctors with their specialties to speak to the community, at no charge, to educate them about different health disorders including health problems that can be prevented with different lifestyle approaches.

Also, for the past couple of years to current date Dr. Shan has traveled nationally in a doctor coaching group helping doctors across the nation to develop business systems that are solid and patient communication systems that have allowed thousands of patients to understand more about their condition and more about their bodies.

It’s because of these things and much more Answers! has been nominated for the Small Business of the Year award!

New Video

Many health problems begin in childhood and develop gradually due to vital growth and developmental stages that were missed. Right from birth, your child's health is subjected to daily stresses. The birth process is one of the most traumatic experiences many of us will ever go through.

Our nervous system is also referred to as our life energy. For this reason it is crucial to evaluate the nervous system. Through easy, pain-free testing procedures we are able to find and detect where health problems are coming from. Once we find the cause, then the proper treatment can be applied and the body can heal and repair. Fortunately, infants and children heal and repair much faster then adults.

See how quick and easy it is to get your little ones on the right track!!

Sugar Overload

It's in EVERYTHING!!!!

Just to name a few...
Dangers and Side Effects of Sugar

According to the US Department of Agriculture, the average American eats approximately 43 teaspoons of sugar per day. That’s 140 pounds per year! That’s more than 10X more than is recommended. Is it at all surprising that such illnesses as diabetes, obesity, depression, panic attacks, and mood swings are rising?

Welcome to the family!

Answers! is thrilled to announce the newest addition to their team. Juanique (pronounced Shaun-ique) Roney is excited to be a part of the Answers! team as the new Massage Therapist and Spinal Technician.

Juanique and her husband moved from Provo, Utah at the beginning of June. She hopes to pursue her passions by helping people learn about health and the human body. “I am amazed by the unique approach Answers! takes to help many people improve their health and I am very excited to be a part of the team. My reason for going into massage therapy was to be able to help people find hope in their health once again. I have a huge respect for the body and its ability to heal itself when given the right tools. The intrinsic and extrinsic aspect of the body go hand in hand towards finding a better lifestyle, and at Answers!, that concept is well understood” says Juanique.

Juanique graduated from the Utah College of Massage Therapy top in her class and now focuses on deep tissue and rehabilitative work. In her spare time she loves to spend her time with her husband hiking, rock climbing, playing board games, longboarding and even sitting down to watch a good movie.

Juanique would like to offer a special discount for massages scheduled in the month of July - call to find out the details and schedule you're 1 hour massage TODAY! 303.774.9737

Spinal Decompression Therapy

FREE PRESENTATION!

This presentation is designed for anyone suffering from back pain, neck pain, sciatica, leg pain, herniated disc, degenerative disc disease, bulging disc, tingling, numbness, and arm pain.

If you or your family members have been struggling with these debilitating conditions with little or no relief, then ask yourself the following questions.

Are you frustrated with taking medications daily?
Do you struggle with daily activities?
Have you had repeated injections or epidurals with little or no relief?
Have you already tried chiropractic or physical therapy?
Have you been told that surgery is your only option?
Have you been out or work due to pain?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then non-surgical spinal decompression therapy is certainly a viable treatment option and could very well be what you’re looking for.

Some treatments are aimed at pain suppression and temporary pain relief. Other treatments are corrective in nature. It’s vital that you understand the differences!

Join us for this FREE presentation and explore your options.

April 22nd @ 6:30pm

Everyone who attends will receive a FREE trial of this breakthrough treatment. Find out what the treatment feels like and if this type of treatment is right for you?

Organic Coca-Cola?

What will they think of next? Organic Coca-Cola?

What Happens When You Drink a Coke?

Downing a can of Coke may not seem like a big deal … until you really examine what it does to your body.

Within the first 10 minutes, 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system.

Then:
• Within 20 minutes, your blood sugar spikes, and your liver responds to the resulting insulin burst by turning massive amounts of sugar into fat.

• Within 40 minutes, caffeine absorption is complete; your pupils dilate, your blood pressure rises, and your livers dumps more sugar into your bloodstream.

• Around 45 minutes, your body increases dopamine production, which stimulates the pleasure centers of your brain -- a physically identical response to that of heroin, by the way.

• After 60 minutes, you’ll start to have a sugar crash, and perhaps reach for another Coke to start the process all over again.

Drinking Coke Now Could Have a Heavy Price LaterThe average American drinks more than 60 gallons of soft drinks each year, and amazingly they make up the number one source of calories in the United States! If you drink the regular variety, you can count on about 10 teaspoons of sugar in each can, largely in the form of dangerous high-fructose corn syrup. If you drink the diet variety, you’re likely being exposed to aspartame, and did you know there are over 92 different side effects associated with aspartame consumption including brain tumors, birth defects, diabetes, emotional disorders and epilispsy/seizures?

JUST SAY NO!

Medical VS Chiropractic

Medical Health Philosophy
  • Medicine focuses on disease processes.
  • Measure blood values and use drugs to alter blood chemistry and change bodily function.
  • Has an outside in approach.
  • Reactive – let’s wait and see if you get a disease, then we can use a drug to treat it.
Chiropractic Health Philosophy
  • The body is a self healing self regulating organism.
  • Recognize the nervous system is the master system that controls, coordinates and regulates every cell, tissue and organ in the body.
  • Examine the nervous system for imbalances and use various treatments to balance and improve nervous system function.
  • Has an inside out approach.
  • Proactive – let’s change your function before you have a disease!

Safely Dispose of Meds - 2/7/09

As many of us know medications have disastrous side affects. We may not know how to throw them out or dispose of them properly, so they don't hurt us further or the environment. These are very toxic chemicals and we should treat them as such. If we throw the medications into the toilet and flush, as harmful as they may be, they will find their way into our water system. Yes into our drinking water and bathing water. They also affect all living creatures in our lakes and streams. Yes into our fishing streams.

Last year Longmont water service put a flyer in our water bill describing how the medications are not able to be filtered out, even with the best filtration in northern Colorado, and they end up in our water sources such as our lakes and streams. This has led to numerous problems with our fish population. The fish are becoming mutated and deformed beyond recognition. For our health, the health of our environment and the health of future generations of people and animals please dispose of your medications properly. Good Day Pharmacy is providing free disposal of all your unused medication (new, used or half used). Please find a location nearest to you and take your toxic mess. ~Dr. S

Your Daily Activities Could be the Cause

Do you...
Slump in your chair?
Drive for more that 20 min?
Look down while reading?
Sit at the computer for long periods of time?
Sit on the couch/over-sized chair and watch TV?
For women- do you wear your purse on one side only?
For kids - do you wear a backpack?

If you answered yes to any of these – your daily actives could be promoting poor posture.

Why is your posture important? You spine houses the spinal cord which carries energy from your brain to the rest of your body. If your posture is “off” that energy is unable to flow to the vital organs which leads to disease. For example: if the energy is shut down in your neck you may find yourself suffering with allergies, thyroid problems or hormone imbalances. If the energy is shut down in mid back you may have problems breathing, numbness/tingling in your hands or heartburn/indigestion. Finally, if the nerves are shut down in your lower back you may have digestive problems, sexual dysfunction or problems into your legs.

Being in any position for more than 20 minutes continually allows the tendons and liniments to relax allowing for possible shifts in your posture over time.

Take charge of your health by paying attention to those daily activities that could be contributing to the increase or decrease of your overall health.

Many Health Problems Begin in Childhood

Many health problems begin in childhood and develop gradually due to vital growth and developmental stages that were missed. Right from birth, your child's health is subjected to daily stresses. The birth process is one of the most traumatic experiences many of us will ever go through. An infant's neck must be bent one way and then the other in order to pass through the birth canal or even be delivered through the small incision made during a c-section birth. This can leave a baby's neck with misalignments that shut down nerve energy from freely flowing through to the rest of the body. This restriction can lead to torticollis (head is tilted to one side predominately), colic, autism, constipation, rashes (eczema), walking too soon, not sleeping through the night and bottom scooting, just to name a few.

"The Nervous System Controls and Coordinates all the Systems of the Body and Relates the Individual to Their Environment" Gray's Anatomy, 24th edition, pg.4

Our nervous system is also referred to as our life energy. Our life energy starts in the brain. The brain sends strength and energy down through your spinal cord like a river to all the vital organs of your body. Each one of your organs is 100% DEPENDENT on that nerve energy to keep you alive and healthy.

4 month old – Suffered with constant spitting up
Before 9:03am ------------------After 9:10am

“My 3 years old suffered from Asthma. He had trouble breathing and sleeping at night. He had even been hospitalized for Asthma attacks. After being seen by Dr. Shan he started sleeping though the night! He has had fewer problems breathing and isn’t on any medications. I’m amazing how easy it was to fix the problem without medication.”

“When I started at Answers! I had lower back pain caused by pregnancy. This condition severely affected my life; I couldn’t stand without pain or stay in any position for very long. After receiving care at Answers! my lower back pain was drastically reduced during the rest of my pregnancy. I was able to care for my other three children and had much more energy. I have learned how crucial the nervous system is in relation with how the body functions. The labor for my forth child was my easiest one and I am convinced that's because of the care I received at Answers!”

What Patients Have to Say...

"After years of 'traditional' chiropractic Dr. Shan has set me and my family on a path to correcting the problems we face rather than treating the symptoms of the problems. It feels good to know that I am improving my health and preventing the downward spiral that is so pervasive in today's backwards health care system. It’s refreshing to have the means and the ability to take control of your health."

"At Answers! they fix the problem, and not just address the symptoms."

"The entire staff is always helpful, encouraging and friendly. Dr. Shan has uncovered and is successfully treating many underlying physical problems I have had for years. He has worked tirelessly to diagnose & correct problems traditional medicine has considered permanent & untreatable."
